West Monroe’s Jodi Bednar, Ellery Tomaszkiewicz named to the Women’s Energy Network’s Greater Chicago Chapter Board of Directors

West Monroe’s Jodi Bednar, a director in the Energy & Utilities practice, has been named president, and Ellery Tomaszkiewicz, an experienced consultant in the Energy & Utilities practice, has been named marketing director of the Women’s Energy Network’s Greater Chicago Chapter.

The Women’s Energy Network (WEN) Chicago’s mission is to attract women into energy careers through outreach programs, retain and develop women in energy by fostering relationships, and develop leadership competencies and industry insight through strategic partnerships with companies, educational institutions, and other energy organizations. WEN Chicago brings together professional women of achievement in the energy industry and fosters their advancement by creating a network of energy contacts. “Jodi is a leader of leaders and is key in mentoring and promoting our next generation of leaders at West Monroe,” said Dan Belmont, senior director of the firm’s Energy & Utilities practice. “I know she’ll bring the same passion and dedication she has in the industry and with our young leaders and our clients to Chicago’s WEN chapter.”

Jodi is a recognized leader both inside and outside West Monroe. In addition to her work with WEN, she led West Monroe’s Women’s Mentoring Circle, which helps female leaders navigate their careers. She served on the firm’s Inclusion & Diversity council and supports its employee resource groups (ERG). She was also named to Consulting Magazine’s ‘Women Leaders in Consulting’ in 2018, and was a 2015 recipient of West Monroe’s Sequoia Award for leadership and mentoring.

Jodi has been a part of WEN Chicago since its inception in 2015. She served as the first director of mentorship from 2017 to 2019. Her leadership built the foundation for career and leadership development for WEN members through the use of mentoring circles along with partnering with local universities to provide career coaching, energy industry information sessions, and networking opportunities with the intent to attract women in technology to energy fields. Jodi served as WEN Chicago’s president-elect in 2019.

Ellery is a trusted advisor to clients and coworkers and strives to be a leader and mentor to others. She currently leads the West Monroe Women's Mentoring Program, which promotes personal and professional development and helps women network within the firm. She hopes to bring a fresh perspective to WEN Chicago marketing and to grow the WEN Chicago brand.

“Ellery embodies what it means to be a next generation leader at West Monroe,” Jodi said. “Her enthusiasm for the industry, our clients, and her colleagues shines in her work and personality. I’m excited to have her on the board of directors and see the impact she’ll have on Chicago’s WEN chapter.

Ellery has been a member of WEN Chicago since 2017. She joined the Chicago board as the communication chair in 2019.
