Senior Principal Energy & Utilities Chicago

LinkedIn

James combines his singular technology acumen with years of practical business experience that allows him to assist clients with developing business, operational, and sales and marketing plans. He recently developed a strategic telecommunications plan to help a large utility company based in the Midwest avoid a nearly $5 million increase in its Operation and Maintenance costs.

James joined West Monroe from S&C Electric, where he most recently was director of smart grid projects. Before joining S&C Electric, he was a regional sales manager for Motorola, responsible for the reseller channel for wireless broadband B2B and B2G sales. His customers included utilities and state and local governments across five states. James has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tulsa and a master’s degree from Oklahoma State University.

What makes Jim different

With a background in electrical engineering, James still has a passion for electronics. He restores vintage radios and computers in his free time and is a licensed ham radio operator. He currently lives west of Atlanta with his wife, their two children, and a menagerie of dogs and horses that he’d rather not count at this point.

Where Jim makes an impact

James is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and its Power and Energy Society. He also serves on the Long Range Planning Committee of the IEEE PES.
