Stuart Sim Joins West Monroe’s Advanced Analytics Practice

West Monroe Partners, a full-service North American business and technology consultancy, today announced that Stuart Sim has joined the firm as a director in its Advanced Analytics practice, based in the firm’s New York City office. He has more than 20 years of experience developing innovative, technology-enabled solutions that deliver strategic insight and advance global business goals.

Applying hands-on experience with the latest web, big data, and distributed computing frameworks, Sim will focus on helping clients develop capabilities for producing the data and insight they need to run their businesses effectively. He adds recognized expertise in big data analytics and machine learning technologies with Hadoop, Spark, Storm, and Flume, as well as deep skills in data mining, ETL, master data management, and social web platforms.

Sim’s experience spans the financial services, education, telecommunications, and other sectors, as well as organizations ranging from multinational enterprises to small start-ups.

Sim joins West Monroe from Scholastic, where he was vice president of architecture responsible for the roadmap for all enterprise systems supporting a global transformational program. He also architected a global analytics platform using Storm and Hadoop. Previously, he was a senior vice president of technology and engineering for PlaceIQ, a start-up for which he managed a team of developers and data scientists in building a location intelligence platform.

Sim began his career with Andersen Consulting in London. He has held technology and consulting leadership roles with Sungard Consulting, Opera Solutions, Wireless Generation, Sun Microsystems, Deutsche Bank, and Andersen Consulting.

He earned a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering with Robotic Manufacturing Systems from Bristol University in the United Kingdom.
