Shehzad understands what it takes to manage large-scale IT initiatives through to tangible business results. He’s done so time and time again – with budget oversight and responsibility varying from a few million dollars to over $100 million, with measurable operational improvement and savings of over $1 billion. For example, he led a $150 million IT infrastructure transformation program for a $14 billion healthcare provider, with accelerated regional implementation of new national infrastructure standards and architecture. The effort produced both capital and operating expense savings, along with a dramatic reduction in critical infrastructure failures that had previously affected hospital revenue and patient care.
A business-oriented technologist with a proven history of success in both IT leadership and management consulting roles, he brings distinctive expertise in IT strategy, IT infrastructure, enterprise networks, org design, deal negotiation, and business transformation. He has improved operational environments for Fortune 500 companies across multiple industries, including healthcare, automotive, manufacturing, higher education, and more.
He joined West Monroe from Pace Harmon, where he was a director. Previously, he held senior positions managing IT infrastructure and network services for a Fortune 10 health insurance provider and a higher education institution. He began his career with Deloitte Consulting, where he identified savings opportunities for Fortune 100 companies. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (magna cum laude) from Northwestern University.
He loves to travel the world with his children as they get older – whether that is exploring the catacombs beneath Rome’s Colosseum, swimming in cenotes, or ziplining 2,600 feet over a lush tropical mountain range. He also enjoys snooker, poker, cricket, and (sadly) the “Da Bears.”
At work, Shehzad strives to develop talent through collaboration and mentorship. Additionally, over the last 6 years, he has actively participated in campus recruiting efforts at his alma mater. Outside of work, he participates in helping the needy with food, education and shelter needs in under-developed countries.
