Rich understands the impact of technology on enterprise value – and also the potential for creating new value through technology. That’s because he’s been there and done that. He led an enterprise technology transformation initiative for a digital media company that increased production capacity by 400%.

His primary focus is providing technology expertise to our Mergers & Acquisitions clients to support development of investment theses, technology due diligence, and post-close integration and value creation. He draws on his 25-year career in technology to assess software product architecture and design, as well as platform and organizational scalability and growth potential.

His M&A transaction experience spans both the buy-side and sell-side. He has performed well over 100 technology due diligence assessments in the digital marketing, healthcare, financial services, consumer products, education, security, and enterprise software sectors on behalf of strategic buyers and private equity firms.

Rich has a strong entrepreneurial spirt, having co-founded and served as a chief technology officer of brightroom. He helped grow the company from an angel-funded start-up to a successful private equity exit. He holds degrees and physics and economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

What makes Rich different

When Rich is not at work, he is likely to be running on one of the hundreds of miles of trails in the mountains near his home north of San Francisco. He has completed more than 50 ultra-marathons, including two finishes at the prestigious Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run and top-ten finishes at the Tahoe Rim Trail 50 Mile and Headlands Hundred Mile races.

Where Rich makes an impact
