Achieving West Monroe’s next stage of growth—including international expansion—hinges on having the right talent to deliver it, as well as the ability to preserve our unique, award-winning culture as we grow. This is the focus and expertise that Laurie brings as a member of our board of directors.

A trusted advisor to CEOs and boards, Laurie is well known for guiding successful organizational and cultural transformation and for creating talent programs that translate into employers of choice. As Nielsen’s global chief people officer for three years, she successfully navigated the company through complex global challenges including the Covid-19 pandemic, the Great Resignation, and the war in Ukraine. She was instrumental in separating one of Nielsen’s businesses, standing up another, and then going private with a new operating model, all while elevating the employee experience and building a culture at scale.

Her substantial experience includes mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and go-private initiatives. She has personally led the people components for nearly 50 acquisitions.

Lovett has spent nearly 30 years, in various global leadership roles, including North American HR lead at Accenture, and chief human resources officer for Verisk Analytics. She earned a degree in business administration and management from Syracuse University and a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Stevens Institute of Technology.

What makes Laurie different

Laurie’s distinctive cross-cultural competency is the product of her broad international experience. Over the course of her career, she has spent substantial time in Argentina, Philippines, India, China, Czech Republic, and Poland.

She also enjoys these worldly experiences in her personal life: As a self-professed “serious adventurer,” she spends time with her daughter on various adventure vacations. Together, they have climbed Machu Pichu, visited the Galapagos, seen the fjords of Chile and Argentina, and hiked in Peru.

Where Laurie makes an impact

Laurie has a passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion and for helping her own team members progress in their own careers.

An active advisor to non-profits as well as corporations, she is executive director for governance at the Nielsen Foundation, and board director at Girl Stats, Verisk Analytics’ foundation. She is also an international advisory council member for Ankh Impact Ventures. She completed certification for the Corporate Director Academy in 2022.
