The firm ranked 17th among 100 companies, and is classified in the “large businesses” category. This is West Monroe’s fifth consecutive appearance on the list and first among companies with more than 100 local employees, reflecting the office’s continued rapid growth over the past year.“It is an honor to again be recognized among New York City’s best workplaces. While we celebrate this type of recognition, we also do not take it for granted. In fact, we are very purposeful about preserving our collaborative culture and commitment to providing highly meaningful careers, especially as we rapidly grow. Our culture is unique in the consulting profession marrying high value client work with intense focus on people’s growth,” said Gil Mermelstein, senior managing director and office leader. “Our mission is to develop the next generation of leaders, a key component of our flywheel and growth.”

West Monroe’s New York City office has more than 125 employees and serves clients across the Northeast in key industries, including private equity, banking, energy and utilities, healthcare, and life sciences. The firm recently signed a 10-year lease at Worldwide Plaza, 825 Eighth Avenue, quadrupling its space to accommodate anticipated growth from 125 employees to 750 by 2025. The firm plans to relocate in March 2020.

Like all West Monroe offices, the New York office maintains a highly participatory and collaborative culture marked by an open work environment, frequent employee meetings and gatherings, a strong commitment to serving the local community through its social responsibility program, and regular recognition awards. Nationally, West Monroe Partners has been recognized as a top workplace by Consulting® magazine and FORTUNE/Great Place to Work® Institute

To be eligible for the Crain’s ranking, businesses must employ 25 or more workers within the five boroughs. To assemble the data, Best Companies Group and Crain’s dispatched surveys to more than 20,000 local employees. Each worker answered a confidential survey, covering topics such as working conditions, benefits, and corporate culture. The results were evaluated alongside responses from a separate survey completed by employers. Results from the employee survey made up 75% of the total score; the answers from employers constituted 25%. The companies recognized span a range of industries, including accounting, engineering, finance, law, and technology.

Crain’s recognized the winning companies and unveiled final rankings at a celebration luncheon on December 6. The full ranking is available online and in the December print edition Crain’s New York Business.
