Michael understands that cyberattacks aren’t a possibility—they are inevitable. That’s why he took a leap of faith to do something about it. He built a disruptive managed detection and response (MDR) business from the ground up – with services that have been employed by large commercial enterprises across the globe.
After spending many years building and leading programs to protect and defend GE’s intellectual property, he co-founded Morphick, recognized by Gartner as a “pioneer” and early leader in the MDR services market and ranked among the top firms to hold the NSA CIRA accreditation for incident response services. His firm became part of Booz Allen Hamilton in 2017.
Now a Senior Partner within West Monroe’s cybersecurity practice, he is a high-integrity, passionate leader and team builder devoted to creating meaningful business and financial outcomes for employees, clients, business partners, and investors.
He holds a degree in management information systems from Colorado State University.
Working in cybersecurity is often action-packed, and Michael enjoys similar adventures in his free time with family. He loves the outdoors, fly fishing, golf, skiing, and water sports when he’s not busy keeping up with three kids who all love sports. Recently, his family spent nine days on a catamaran sailing around the barrier reef in Belize, where they spent time fishing, scuba diving, and snorkeling.
In 2014, he risked “going for broke” by leaving his job to co-found a company—unaware of the obstacles they would encounter and have to overcome along the journey. Having gone through the experience, he has become a true believer that anything is possible with the right amount of focused passion, teamwork, and collaboration.
