John’s career has been built on investing in high-quality companies. As a former managing director at MSD Partners, that’s what led him to partner with West Monroe in 2021. An investor and member of our Board of Directors, John is helping guide West Monroe’s next stage of growth – including creating the capacity for transformative acquisitions – while preserving West Monroe’s unique, award-winning culture.
For more than two decades, he has collaborated with world-class management teams to define long-term strategic positioning and the foundations for growth, competitive excellence, and value creation. Prior to joining MSD in 2020, he was a managing partner and member of the Investment Committee of Court Square Capital Partners, where he primarily was involved in the firm’s business services and technology sector investments.
John earned a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and an MBA with academic distinction from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a master’s degree in international affairs from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
What makes John different
Away from work, he enjoys reading novels and playing rock and blues guitar. His favorite travel destination is South America – a continent he crossed by bus and hitch-hiking during his post-college days.
Where John makes an impact
He serves on the board of Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO), an organization that narrows the achievement gap for low-income high school students by equipping them with the skills, scholarships, and mentorship necessary to gain admission to selective colleges and then thrive once enrolled.
