Session 6: Equitable Decarbonization: Social and Economic Inclusivity in Carbon Reduction

Decarbonization should support inclusivity and center equity as a core principle in the decarbonization process, but it historically has been exclusively companies and elite decision-makers calling the shots. Urban and rural low-income households spend roughly three times as much of their income on energy cost as compared to non-low-income households. Hear how leaders are ensuring solutions are inclusive of the want and needs of disproportionately impacted communities.
