Section 8

West Monroe Section 8 Housing administers federal funds from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the Housing Choice Voucher Program for residents in the city limits of West Monroe. This program provides rental assistance for elderly, handicapped, disabled and low-income families to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market. The participant is free to choose any housing, including single-family homes, townhouses and apartments, that meets the requirements of the program.

Preferences are given for those who are elderly, handicapped or disabled, homeless, living in substandard conditions, or paying more than 50% of their income for rent and utilities.
