Ordinance Number 1501 created the Planning & Zoning Department in 1973. The duties of the Planning/Zoning Administrator are to coordinate and administer the affairs and duties of the zoning office, Planning Commission, Board of Adjustments and the Historic Preservation Commission. The Zoning office maintains all official records, necessary and incidental, pertaining to the administration of the zoning ordinance and its related bodies.
The Planning and Zoning Division works with the public and city officials to evaluate and formulate plans for the development of the city.
