West Monroe is located in the urban center of the Northeast/North Central Louisiana region. We have been the focal point for growth in population, wealth, jobs, private investment, new home construction, and everything else positive over the past 10 years. Projections show this strong growth will not only continue into the future, but intensify.

The mission of the Economic Development Department is to promote West Monroe's prosperity by increasing the number of quality jobs and new private investment in the area. The department accomplishes this mission by providing the following assistance to new and expanding businesses:

• Finding appropriate buildings and sites
• Helping with licensing and permitting
• Connecting businesses with resources that can help with demographics, business plans, feasibility studies, and access to capital
• Helping secure money for worfoce development through the Louisiana Department of Labor and the Louisiana Department of Economic Development
• Helping businesses benefit from federal and state incentive programs that reward new private investment and new job creation
