Board of Alderman


Staci Albritton Mitchell joined the board in 2011. After graduating from LSU, Staci opened Albritton Photography with her Dad. She has received numerous awards and recognitions for both her professional and civic work throughout the community.

James W. "Sonny" Bennett has served as Councilman since 1974. He and his family have lived in West Monroe since 1955 and spent close to 30 years working for the Piggly Wiggly Company. Mr. Bennett dedicated many years to the Dixie Youth Baseball Organization, coaching youth from the area.

Alice Pearson bought Pearson Jewelers in November of 1993, one year after joining the Board of Aldermen. In 2002, she sold the business to her son but continues to work as financial manager and salesperson. She remains an active business leader in the community.

James D. "Polk" Brian has served as Councilman since 1994, joining the Board shortly before retiring from a lifelong career in education. He began his career as a teacher and coach, and was serving as Principal for West Monroe Junior High upon retirement in 1998.

Thom Hamilton joined the board in May 2014. Thom graduated from ULM, holds a BSN in Nursing and is currently a cardiac surgical nurse at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. He is also a drilling reservist as a Lieutenant Commander Navy Nurse Corp Officer. Thom and his wife Tonya own two businesses in the area, a bed and breakfast inn and a retail jewelry store.
